I’ve been making a similar meatball version of this for years, and they’re always the number one requested menu item from my clients for their parties. While I usually reserve the harissa to make the sauce on the meatballs, I decided for this burger version to add it right into the patty so you get all the spice and juiciness inside each bite.
I’ve also thrown a handful of feta cheese into the mix. I love feta with lamb, and this way you get all the goodness inside your mouth instead of losing all the crumbles to the plate.
You can cook the burger in a pan or on the grill, and is just as tasty as a bowl or on a bun. If you fancy a glass of wine with your burger (I know I do), it pairs beautifully with the 2015 DeLoach O.F.S. Zinfandel, which you can get here. —> BUY WINE!

Harissa Lamb Burger w/ Feta
1 lb. Grass-Fed Lamb
2 Tbsp. Homemade or Store Bought Harissa
¼ cup Canned Fire Roasted Tomatoes
¼ cup Bread Crumbs (I choose the GF variety)
¼ cup Feta Cheese, Crumbled
1 tsp Salt
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the lamb, harissa, tomatoes, egg and bread crumbs and mix with your hands. Add feta and mix again until evenly distributed.
Form patties and season with salt before cooking. Cook however you desire.
